Our History

Throw Art Studio began with a single pottery wheel, a high school passion, and a garage in Logan, Utah.

Founder JohnPaul Ryan first discovered pottery in his high school art class and immediately fell in love with the creative art form. Eager to continue learning, he purchased his own pottery wheel and began throwing in the small space he had– his garage!

What started as a personal hobby quickly grew into something bigger as he began teaching friends, youth groups, and small classes, sharing his love for ceramics with anyone who wanted to learn.

With this new-found passion, JohnPaul carried both his love for pottery and his growing business vision with him when he moved to Provo, Utah to attend Brigham Young University. There, his humble garage studio evolved into what is now Throw Art Studio– a welcoming, creative space designed for artists, beginners, and families alike.

Today, Throw Art Studio is proud to offer a wide variety of hands-on ceramic experiences for all ages and skill levels. From beginner-friendly ceramics classes to flexible pottery memberships, our studio is built to support both casual creators and dedicated artists. We host engaging pottery workshops, unique events like pottery bachelorette parties, and enriching after school pottery classes for kids and teens who want to explore their creativity in a fun, supportive environment.
